Christmas in Siena<\/strong> will be full of fun and magic. This year, in fact, there are many events scheduled for children and families, at Giardini della Lizza (Lizza gardens) and the Medicea Fortress from 6th December until 6th January.<\/p>\n

There will be many opportunities in to spend Xmas holidays in town with your dear ones, in the sign of the authentic Christmas spirit. We recommend you what to do in Siena in December, as we did in other posts of this blog (for example What to do in Siena during Christmas Holidays<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Giardini della Lizza becomes a Christmas park<\/h2>\n

This is a public garden that will make all children happy: a place where you can go and find many attractions such as slide-caterpillar, jumping, bumper car for children and many more.<\/p>\n

Here, furthermore, you will touch the sky above Siena with a finger, thanks to the Ferris wheel. But this is not the only attraction of Lizza gardens<\/strong>. The ideal Christmas always has its colorful market, where you can taste excellent products, buy gifts and unique items.<\/p>\n

Punctual as every year there will also be the ice-skating rink: one of the most awaited events by tourists and Sienese people.<\/p>\n

Santa Claus, special guest at the Medicea Fortress<\/h2>\n

The wonder of Christmas in Siena continues at the Medici Fortress<\/strong>, in the \u201cKingdom of Santa Claus\u201d. A magical place, inhabited by many fantastic characters, where the little ones can live like in a fairytale. Here, in fact, every game becomes a small discovery, while in the Christmas factory everything is ready to create many fantastic decorations.<\/p>\n

The reindeer rest quietly in their stable, because those who get busy are the elves, very busy sorting the many letters addressed to Santa Claus.<\/p>\n

The nice old man with a long white beard who waits, sitting on his throne, to tell his magical adventures to the children who want to entrust their wishes and the list of gifts.<\/p>\n

In Santa Claus Kingdom nothing is missing: you will find also a \u201ctruccabimbi\u201d corner (a make-up artist only for children), refreshment areas and a shop with sweets and delicacies.<\/p>\n

Throughout the festive period, the Christmas train, starting from the Fortress, will reach all the main spots of the historic center: from Piazza Duomo to Piazza del Campo, with several stops along the way.<\/p>\n

The costumes of Palio on display at Palazzo Pubblico<\/h2>\n

\u201cUna storia in montura\u201d brings for the first time on display sketches and costumes of the Historic Procession of the Palio di Siena.<\/p>\n

At the Sala dei Costumi<\/strong> of Palazzo Pubblico it will be possible to know in detail the path of the creative process that changed the concept of the entire parade after 1904, 1925 and 1955. That is when the participants became almost six hundred and the historical-artistic value of the costumes was raised thanks to the artists involved in the project.<\/p>\n

This brief journey will let you discover one of the most beloved events in town, which has helped make it famous in the world.<\/p>\n

We would like to point out that this exhibition can only be visited on Tuesdays and Thursdays until 6th January 2019 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 including holidays, except on 25th December.<\/p>\n
