This summer there are many initiatives included in \u201cEstate Senese 2014\u201d calendar that continue in August and get along with us until September, so if you haven’t already booked your trip to Siena<\/strong> don’t worry, you will find many events in the historical center and in the surrounding area in the next weeks.<\/p>\n

Theatrical performances will enliven the evenings this month: one of the venues is the Teatro del Boschetto in San Miniato<\/strong> (a Siena district), an area surrounded by greenery where will take place monologues, dance performances and theatrical improvisations by Ares Teatro. The shows are scheduled on 29th August (5:00 pm) and 9th September (6.30 pm); while Teatro delle Stanze acting company will present \u201cPane di Ferro\u201d, a performance inspired by a railroad discharged, the date is on 13th September, at 5:30 pm and repeated at 7:00 pm.<\/p>\n

Fonti di Pescaia<\/strong> is a suggestive set, as it is of a very ancient source that fed the city and now houses the Museum of Water, certainly one of the more unusual places in the town of the Palio.<\/p>\n

At Fonti di Pescaia will take place many summer events, such as Picnic – Siena Summer Festival<\/strong>, until 10th August, a series of literary events, concerts and shows starring Ascanio Celestini, Andy Luotto, Paola Maugeri, Giorgio Canali, Levante, Cristiano Godano and Sergio Staino, from 8:00 pm onwards.<\/p>\n

Each member of the audience will be provided with a picnic basket full of a selection of local products and craft beer, a tasty offer that we deeply recommend you.<\/p>\n

If you are curious about the history of Siena, we suggest you the follow-up meetings with Augusto Codogno<\/strong>, who will tell oddities and secrets of the town with the help of video projections; the meetings are scheduled on 21st and 28th August, and on 4th and 11th September.<\/p>\n

The Cortile del Podest\u00e0<\/strong>, a part of Public Palace, is the stage where you will see very different events, such as the exhibition of rare minerals and fossils curated by the Mineralogical and Paleontological association on 24th August, the theatrical monologue about Banca MPS “Ummonte”, by the acting company Opificio Badesse, scheduled on 30th August at 9:00 pm, the reading of the prologue of the novel “Ask the Dust” by John Fante on 4th September; the show \u201cIl Palio a sorpresa\u201d on 5th September and finally two concerts, performed by the Choir of San Miniato on 7th September and Senese Choral Union, who will perform \u201cIl Valzer di Violetta – Storia in musica di una cortigiana per uno spettacolo musicale in 5 quadri\u201d, which will end the season on 28th September 28.<\/p>\n
