The most famous square in Siena hosts again Mercato nel Campo, a handicraft market with the best products of local artisans and top food & wine excellences. For the first time will take place in spring: thanks to the success of the previous winter editions, in fact, the market is scheduled on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd April from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.

What is Mercato nel Campo? It consists in 150 stalls where you can buy cured meats, handmade pasta, cheese, olive oil, honey, saffron, Senese sweets like cavallucci and panforte, in addition to herbs, fruits and vegetables.
There will be Senese craftsmen and also producers from other regions, a unique opportunity to taste tortellini di Modena, speck del Trentino, the anchovies of Valmaira, cheese from Lombardy and Porchetta di Ariccia IGP, just to name a few.
Tastings and workshops on Tuscan speciies
Thanks to this special market at Piazza del Campo there will also be the chance to join a workshop about DOP Tuscan bread (on Saturday 2nd April at 3:00 pm), and one about Finocchiona IGP (on Sunday 3rd April at 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm), a typical Tuscan cured meat that usually accompanies the bread without s.
The fine wines of Siena and surroundings are an essential ingredient of this market, in fact, under the Mangia Tower there will be the Vinarte area, dedicated exclusively to wine tasting.
There will also be some shows to entertain the visitors: the Compagnia di Francesco Burroni will perform medieval sonnets dedicated to the Jubilee on the main stage in Piazza del Campo.
