Siena is not only a town full of beauties to discover, but also a lively place, with many events to mark on the agenda for those who love live music. In addition to the famous Accademia Chigiana, a reference point for classical music concerts, there are several clubs and other venues that offer live musical shows. A pleasant way to get to know the town better and bring home your own personal “soundtrack” of your holiday in Siena.
Concerts and live performances in Siena
A short distance from the central and suggestive Piazza del Campo, La Corte dei Miracoli organizes workshops, movie screenings, aperitifs and live music concerts. The genres range from jazz to blues, passing through post punk and techno. Also, near the square is Un Tubo, a winery that also hosts various cultural events, including live jazz, both free and paid admission.
Another place to see live music concerts is Il Tea Room, a tea room in the historic center of Siena. This very peculiar venue offers jazz performances during the week, usually on Thursday evening.
In the outskirts of the city, and more precisely in Rapolano Terme, a famous venue for live concerts has moved from Siena: Cacio & Pere, today Caffè del Teatro by Cacio & Pere. Here you can attend concerts of different musical genres, by both Italian and international artists, sipping a good glass of wine or a cocktail.

“Micat in Vertice” 2019/2020, the program of the renowned Accademia Musicale Chigiana now at its 97th edition, will begin on November 22nd, 2019. Until May 15, 2020 22 chamber music concerts will take place invenues such as Teatro dei Rinnovati, Hall of Palazzo Chigi Saracini, Teatro dei Rozzi and Siena Cathedral.

This will be a unique concerts season, particularly long and full of events, many of which dedicated to the great German composer Beethoven, born 250 ago. On stage, you can see artists from all over the world and also the best young performers who have attended the Academy’s advanced summer courses. These concerts are recommended to those who love chamber music, but are suggested even to who has different musical tastes: a classical, romantic and baroque repertoire will be proposed, but also contemporary sounds linked to popular traditions.

A very special show will open the Academy’s concert series. “Vivaldi Renaissance”, on November 22nd at 9:00 pm at the Teatro dei renewed, is in fact a tribute to the Italian composer and violinist, to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the first Sienese Music Week.
