To spend a really magic Christmas you should stay in an ancient town full of activities and charming sights, where to wait for Christmas Eve and exchange gifts.
The municipality organized 100 initiatives, from December to 31st January, along with cultural and touristic associations to celebrate the most liked festivities by families.
“Tutto il Natale di Siena” is the name of the festival and to help you with the travel planning we offer you a selection of events: on 23rd December, for example, there will be the guided tour from Cappella della Madonna del Voto, inside the Cathedral, to Cappella dei Nove, inside Public Palace, a special tour available at 11:00 am and 3:00 pm for groups (from 14 to 30 people), to discover the story of the hidden gems of the town.

If you have children and you wish to give them a unique gift, Siena offers seven events dedicated to Christmas fairy tales performed by actors at the museum complex Santa Maria della Scala, Sotto la Neve Fiabe… shows and creative workshops included for children aged between 5 and 10, a nice idea to involve kids with an educational event.
The first event will be on 22nd December, the last one on 6th January, for reservation call 0577/534531. What about a tea at Opera? This is the name of the initiative housed at the Crypt under the Cathedral, a tribute to salons and a chance to taste precious tea from all over the world in an unusual location.
The last event of 2013 will be on Sunday 29th December at 4:00 pm.
About New Year’s Eve we recommend two events: the shows that include dj sets, theatrical performances and concerts in the historical center; Happy Light Year Siena is the name of the party and is scheduled from 7:00 pm to 3:00 am; the other event is the Grand Soirée at Teatro dei Rinnovati from 7:30 pm.
