December is always full of events in Siena, for this reason we have picked the themed activities for those who want to avoid the usual route in the historic center and prefer to join interesting and tasty activities.
On December 1st began All the Christmas of Siena and this year offers a very wide choice of events that will satisfy the most demanding tourists.
The itinerary for gourmet travelers ideally begins on Thursday 8th December, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, however most of the appointments that we point out in this post are also scheduled in the following days.
In the morning will open the stands of the Christmas Market in Piazza Matteotti, an important tradition that promotes local handicrafts and allows you to find high quality gifts for your loved ones. Of course here you can also buy some of the most famous Tuscan delicacies.
It was opened also the Nativity Scene at Siena railway station, made entirely by hand in XIX century style, and is well worth a visit during a walk in the city.
Restaurant Tullio Tre Cristi
The first event that combines art, history, gastronomy and tradition is “Meet the Count Chigi, romantic patron of Siena”, event included in the Texi Art + Gourmet festival. It is a guided tour through three stages, Palazzo Chigi Saracini, the Accademia Chigiana and the restaurant Tullio Tre Cristi, chosen to tell the life of this prestigious Sienese patron.
The appointment is at 2:30 pm, the rate of the event is 210 € per person, including dinner and admission to all the venues mentioned.

The evening of 8th continues at the bar La Favorita, in Piazza Giacomo Matteotti, where from 7:00 pm to 1:00 am there will be a party, a very nice occasion to make an aperitif or to have an after dinner drink.
Every Thursday, furthermore, there is Seven Notes in Seven Nights, a series of concerts hosted by the amazing Civic Museum at Public Palace; here you can see the concert of the musicians from Institute Rinaldo Franci, visit the Sala del Risorgimento and you can delight your palate with Panforte and Ricciarelli along with the dessert wines, offered by the Enoteca Italiana.
Join guided tastings is always an activity much appreciated by tourists, especially because allows to taste the finest quality wines in the world (Chianti and Vin Santo, just to mention a few). However in Siena you can also learn to cook some speciies, thanks to quick courses such as those of the Cooking School of Lella or the International Chef Academy.
On Friday 9th, for example, you could follow the cooking class dedicated to Christmas menu proposed by chef Lella, to learn how to prepare fresh pasta, soups, cakes, bread, meat or other typical Tuscan dishes.

Have you ever thought that a wine tasting could be paired with a ballet? That’s what will happen at Ateneo della Danza during VinDanzando, on Friday at 7:00 pm, in Piazza Maestri del Lavoro 31. During the dance performance, it will take place the tasting of fine wines led by professional sommeliers.
