To celebrate the charm of Siena natural set, which many times have inspired artists and directors in particular, this summer there will be special events and unique itineraries that will enliven the evenings in the city and surroundings.
The connection of Siena with the Seventh Art deserves to be enhanced, so we are happy to announce that in the coming weeks you will experience the city as if it were a movie, thanks to the Federagit tourist guides that launched the initiative “Le Scoperte del Cinema”.

The theme of the night walks, which will start at 9.15 pm from Fonte Gaia, is to visit the places where movies were filmed, in other words an itinerary dedicated to the memories of actors, directors, local background actors and anecdotes that occurred during the making of the movies.
It will begin on July 28th and will continue every Thursday (except on August 11th) until 8th September. These are movies that inspired the itineraries: La Ragazza del Palio (on July 28th), with Vittorio Gassman and Diana Dors, Palio by Alessandro Blasetti (August 4th), Io, Caterina (18th August) of Oreste Palella, Con gli occhi chiusi by Francesca Archibugi (August 25th), Pia de ‘Tolomei directed by Sergio Grieco (September 1st) and La città ideale (8th September) by Luigi Lo Cascio.
The guides will tell you what is hidden in some of the most famous Siena streets and squares, providing info about the films and offering the opportunity to watch some of the film sequences directly on the set where they were shot.
The preview of the event will take place on July 14th at Orto de ‘Pecci with an aperitif dedicated to 007 Quantum of Solace, whose opening scene was filmed just in Siena.

If you want to combine the well-being activities with a dive into the world of cinema, we suggest the initiative at Terme Antica Querciolaia, where up to 1st September there will be the screening “Al cinema con gusto”, including a dinner pool and a bath under the stars in the beautiful set of the thermal baths.
