Today photography has a different role than in the past, because everyone takes pictures every day with smartphones or other devices, we use images to capture a precise moment and remember something that has caught our attention.
The talent of professional photographers, however, can express much more with a single image, and we think that Siena is a perfect set for hosting some of the best works by photographers from around the world.
For this reason we are pleased to announce the first edition of Siena Art Photo Travel Festival, to be held from October 30th to November 30th in different venues to celebrate the eternal charm of the town and the genius of the photographers who joined the contest.
The festival, in fact, is linked to Siena International Photography Awards, competition that involved thousands of participants and that will end with the awards ceremony on Saturday, October 31st at 6:30 pm at Teatro dei Rozzi.
The traveling exhibit Beyond the Lens will be the theme of the event, since it will take place in five different venues: the Museum of Natural History of the Academy of Fisiocritici, the Enoteca Italiana, the Art School “Duccio di Buoninsegna”, the seat of the Venerabile Arciconfraternita di Misericordia and the Grand Hotel Continental.
The exhibition will display 200 photos selected by the jury and you will take the opportunity to visit the historic center of Siena walking without hurry.
The most interesting feature of Siena Art Photo Travel Festival, however, consists of the workshops, since you can book tours and excursions with experienced guides and take memorable pictures of your trip.
We recommend, among the others, the photo tours in Val d’Orcia, Siena at dawn, the Chianti hills at sunset, or the workshop about street photography, to learn the secrets of the trade from prestigious photographers.
