Spend the New Year’s Eve and 1st January in a special place like Siena is something that we wish you all, and we take this opportunity to report events planned for New Year’s in town.
This year there is a wide choice of events and the celebration will begin in the afternoon of December 31st: Siena, in fact, is the “slow city” par excellence, the place where the soothing rhythms get along with the many activities that a tourist can join.
We recommend in particular initiative “Siena Urban Running,” a walk 3 km long to go through the town in collaboration with tourist guides of Federagit Siena to appreciate the wonders of the historic center and prepare for the evening events.

From 7:00 pm you can have a drink at Bar La Favorita at Piazza Giacomo Matteotti 32, where the DJs of Combriccola del Disco will enliven the event, which will continue with dinner at 8:30 pm and disco from 11:00 pm onwards. For reservations: 348 7925528, www.lafavoritabar.it.
If you prefer a party at a jazz club go to Un Tubo, at Vicolo del Luparello 2; here there is the dinner upon reservation (8:30 pm) and live music starting from 00:30 (with a ticket of 10 €). To know more you can contact the number 0577 271312 or visit www.untubo.it.
Piazza del Campo is the main venue of the New Year’s Eve, because the party will be celebrated from 8:00 pm onwards together with artists from other cities who have shared with Siena the Italian title of capital of culture: Cagliari, Lecce, Perugia and Ravenna.
In detail the following musicians will perform: the acid jazz band Matteo Addabbo & the Funk Destroyers representing Siena; Notte della Taranta Orchestra from Lecce; the marching band P. Funking Brass from Perugia. There will also be artists from Ravenna and Cagliari.
The P. Funking Brass won’t only play in Piazza del Campo, but will move through the streets of the historic center.
Finally, after the midnight toast, it will begin the 2016 at the rhythm of Silent disco, to dance wearing headphones: 10.000 headphones will be given to the public and there will be 4 DJs, Marco Barbagli, Alberto Rossi, Alex Sundee and DJ Oliver.
We suggest getting ready for a full day of celebration to live intensely, here the New Year’s Eve is a triumph of fireworks and eternal beauty, thanks to a set that is impossible to imitate.
