The connection between Siena and top wines is well-known to those who have visited the town of Palio, so it’s natural to promote an event like Wine & Siena, dedicated to guided tastings of selected wines from the best Italian wine producers.
The second edition of Wine & Siena, scheduled on 20, 21 and 22 January, allows you to enjoy fine wines in amazing historic buildings, acting as a lure for wine lovers and connoisseurs who thus have the opportunity to discover the other attractions of the town.

Discover all the venues that will host wine tastings
On Friday 20th January the festival will begin with the Small Plates Gala at the Palazzo del Rettorato, a special dinner with a menu for true gourmets: each dish will be prepared by a different Sienese restaurant, so it will be the opportunity to taste, for example, the starter dish bread toasted with crumbled chicken liver and anchovies, pasta and beans with crispy bacon, shin of veal baked and the dessert creamy with field greens and crispy cocoa, cinnamon and mango, delicacies prepared with the finest ingredients.
The cost of the dinner is 45 € and it will start at 8:30 pm at the first floor of the Palazzo del Rettorato. From Saturday 21st you can join the sensorial routes, focused on different local wines from all the regions of Italy.
To savor the Chianti and other Tuscan excellence you can head to the Rocca Salimbeni, where there will be the wines Chianti, Chianti Classico, Chianti Colline Senesi, Val di Cornia, Montecucco and Cortona.
At the Grand Hotel Continental – Starhotels Collection, at Via Banchi di Sopra 85, you can discover the white and sparkling wines of the following regions: Alto Adige, Trentino, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Lombardy, Emilia Romagna, Lazio and Abruzzo.
At Palazzo del Rettorato, at Via Banchi di Sotto 55, the main white and red wines will come from Costa Toscana, Carmignano, Maremma, Bolgheri, San Gimignano, Val d’Orcia, Piedmont, Veneto, Sicily, Marche, Puglia, Valle d’Aosta Umbria, Calabria and Campania, as well as a selection of food speciies.
At Sansedoni Palace will be held the master classes, insights into specific wines with wine experts, who will explain the peculiarities of the Pinot Nero Riserva Burgum Novum, Chianti Classico Riserva Gran Selezione San Lorenzo and Carmignano Villa di Capezzana.
