November in Siena isn’t really “low season”, contrary to what you might think.
If you plan to stay in Tuscany in this period, you will be pleasantly impressed by the activities available and the peculiar beauty of the medieval hamlets in the fall.
Furthermore, for food and wine lovers, this is a perfect time to go: the White Truffle Market of Crete Senesi comes back on two weekends, 12th and 13th November, 19th and 20th November, so you can take advantage of the festival to discover one of the most exclusive products of Siena’s province.
The white truffle is related to the magic charm of Crete Senesi, clay hills surrounded by groves, and are also recognizable by the strong perfume and high digestibility. The „capital“ of white truffles is San Giovanni d’Asso, a hamlet that is far about 34 km from Siena, where to take place the festival and where you can visit is the first Museum of Truffle in Italy.
