Classical music is on stage in Siena all the month of May with a festival came to its 12th edition, MusicaSiena, boasting international guests who will perform on every Saturday.
The venues that will host the performances are the Auditorium of Music “Rinaldo Franci”, the oratory of Contrada della Torre (at via Salicotto n. 76) and the museum of the Noble Contrada del Bruco (at via del Comune n. 44), places that are worth a visit because lesser known comparing to the main sights of the town. To follow some info about the schedule: on 10th May, the guest will be Edoardo Catemario, who will perform on the guitar tracks of the baroque repertoire as the Suite Espanola by Gaspar Sanz and Ciacona of Johann Sebastian Bach, followed by tracks of classic and contemporary authors such as Mario Castelnuovo Tedesco, Niccolò Paganini and Heitor Villa Lobos.
The soft piano music by Alessandra Ammara will be the soundtrack of 17th May, an opportunity to listen to the greatest masterpieces of Ravel, Debussy and Liszt. The sonatas of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Johannes Brahms , Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel will be performed by the duo Francesco Manara on the violin and Francesco De Zan on the piano on Saturday 24th May, while the evening of 30th will be dedicated to medieval music with the duo Henri and Idriss Agnel, who play instruments with plucked strings and percussion, a journey through ancient, evocative and moving sounds.
