In the fall season we usually go to the movies, it’s a time when many new movies come out and there are a lot of festivals; Siena has its own festival, came at 18th edition and is an event richer than a film exhibition and less celebratory than a glamorous party; is an event that combines the beauty of Tuscany with the talent of many authors and performers from all over the world.
This is the Terra di Siena Film Festival, which since 1996 promotes local excellences and at the same time rewards successful artists and rising stars. The “green carpet” of the festival symbolizes the intention of combining an eco-sustainable future with cinema and fashion fields.
At the festival, as well as special guest still to be announced, there will be young Tuscan designers who will show case studies related to this surprising area.
The festival program includes short films, national premieres, debut movies, meetings with filmmakers, aperitifs including wine tastings organized by the School of Cuisine Lella di Siena and finally the award ceremony, including the Sanese d’Oro for Best Movie in competition, the Seguso Award won by the American actress Anika Rose, the Premio Gemma awarded by the Italian actor Alessio Boni.
The entire event will take place from September 30th to October 4th at Alessandro VII cinema, at Piazza dell’Abbadia 5, recently restored and opened to the public.
There will be also Livia Firth, wife of Oscar winner Colin Firth, and Antonella Antonelli, editor of the magazine Marie Claire, which will be awarded for their commitment to the creation of Circle of Women non-profit association.
