Who likes to travel and has children knows how useful is to know if during a holiday is possible to join events tailored for children.
Siena offers a plenty of interesting activities for kids even in January, so we suggest you some educational initiative, workshops and theater shows suitable to children.
At Corte dei Miracoli, located at Via Roma 56, is scheduled the workshop “The World Of Ed Heck” American Pop Art For Kids, entirely devoted to the discovery of New York through the artistic style of Ed Heck.
Children will experience drawing, painting, crafting and English lessons with the help of tablet and pc. The next meetings are on Saturday 24th and Saturday 31st January, the cost of the ticket is € 15.50 and reservations are required, for information call the number 338 8686285.
On Sunday 18th at 3.30 pm, there is the course Museums In Progress – Armi Scudi E Castelli, a guided tour to the Civic Museum of Palazzo Pubblico with an educational workshop which will be held at Corte dei Miracoli. The cost is € 16.50 and you must book calling the number 338 8665742.
An effective way to convey to children the beauty of art, history, and to entice them to develop creativity is to tell a story in the shape of theatrical performance, more engaging than a lesson and more funny than a video.
For this reason we recommend the events of the series “Il Conte Racconta” (the next will be on 10th and 17th January, 14th and 28th February), in which an actor tells the story of Count Guido Chigi, who was for 37 years Rector of the Magistrate of the Contrade and Prior of the Sovereign Contrada dell’Istrice, a character of great importance for the history of Siena. These events are suitable to children aged from 5 to 10 years, the meetings will take place at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana at Via di Città 89; the phone number for reservations is 0577 220 927.
January also marks the start of the festival Fa…Volare, that every year attracts many families to theater, it will start on Saturday 10th on the stage of Teatro dei Rozzi at 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm with the show “Ribolle – Operetta per bolle di sapone senza parole”, an exciting journey through the soap bubbles with actors Simona Baldeschi, Maria Grazia Fiore and Maurizio Muzzi, accompanied by Mirco Carosella on piano.
Ribolle is recommended for children from 3 years old and is a beautiful gift even for adults who want to daydream for a few hours.
If you are traveling with your family, Siena will welcome you with kindness and warmth, showing the wonders that make it one of the most sought after and loved destinations.
